With a diverse background spanning five sectors — including real estate, home construction, web app development, e-learning, and the entertainment industry — Ian's expertise in marketing technologies and operational management has given rise to unique tools and strategies that help buyers and sellers chart a steady course to their successful real estate transactions. 

Ian is a North Carolina native. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and with two step-daughters attending NC State, he has also become a big Wolfpack fan. (But blue is still his color!) His interest in real estate grew out of his family's four-generation-old building supply business in Stanly County, NC. He got his first real estate license in Colorado just after graduating from college, and was also licensed in New York. 

Volunteer Work. Ian was board chair and board member at the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science. He has also contributed his expertise to Beaufort, NC's Historic Preservation Commission. He was a founding board member of the TechHome division at the Consumer Technology Association (previously known as the Consumer Electronic Association), and is the innovator behind DwellWell HomeConnect, an accessible home automation and security solution. Ian also created North Carolina’s first exclusively For-Sale-By-Owner website.
